We greatly enjoyed welcoming Emmanuel Bach (violin) & Jenny Stern (Piano) at our lunchtime recital on Wednesday 25^th September.

We were treated to a wonderful selection of music by Beethoven, Gershwin: Porgy and Bess (Transcriptions by Jascha Heifetz) & Sarasate

Informal Cathedral Recital

Wednesday 11 September – 6:30 pm

Yesterday, Wednesday 11^th September at 6.30pm, we greatly enjoyed welcoming six of our former choristers, who gave a short Strings and Flute Recital.

The recital included pieces by Vivaldi, Corelli, Elgar and Fauré.

What a setting – the absolute beauty of the Cathedral! The quality of performance is superb and the standard just keeps getting higher and higher…..

In an otherwise crazy world the respite to be lifted into heaven with music is so welcome……

Midday music provides a valuable island of refreshment……

We are leaving with a feeling of joy and hope. Thank you.

I so enjoy the concerts – I have managed to get to most of them, such a high standard, a privilege to have them in the Cathedral….

An hour of peace, enrichment, culture offered locally. An opportunity to talk to the Recitalists, whilst having some refreshments afterwards…..

The privilege of watching live performances by highly talented musicians – they contribute significantly to the cultural life of our town….

Brings joy and relaxation with each piece of music heard – brings much happiness to the audience….

The Recitals are so uplifting – can’t wait for more in the Autumn….
