On Friday  23 August at 6:00 pm, our  Vespers Service was devoted to praying for peace in Ukraine.

The service was held on the eve of Ukraine’s National Day, and was attended by the Mayor of Brentwood.

This was an opportunity to join in prayer with the Ukrainians, whom we have welcomed into our town and parish, and it featured both English and Ukrainian music  and hymns, with a dual-language service booklet available.

During the afternoon there were events in the Parish Hall hosted by members of the Ukrainian community. These included examples of Ukrainian crafts, and activities for children.

Following Vespers, refreshments were served in the Hall.

The local Ukrainian community greatly values and appreciates the support we offer them.
