Vespers for Peace in Ukraine

26 February 2025 – 6 pm

Two days after the third anniversary of the Russian invasion in February 2022, there was a special service of Vespers in the Cathedral  praying for peace in Ukraine.Bishop Alan William conducted the service, and we were privileged to be joined by The Right Reverend Kenneth Nowakowski, the Ukrainian Catholic Eparch (Bishop) for Great Britain, who preached a homily.

The service was attended by a large congregation, including the Deputy Mayor of Brentwood, Cll Jay Laplain

Our Director of Music, Andrew Wright directed the choir with support from our organist, Stephen King; and  we greatly appreciated lovely music and moving prayers in both English and Ukrainian.
