Described by the Lucerne Festival as “a pianist who does not fit into any mold,” Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee is known for performances of striking imagination and emotional depth. An advocate for bringing new light to classic repertoire through innovative programming, she combines great masterpieces and contemporary voices with lyrical insight and curiosity.
Upcoming highlights include her solo debuts at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland and the Royal Mile International Piano Series in Edinburgh in 2026. This season, she made her French and German solo debuts, and was featured nationally on France Inter. This was followed by an acclaimed recital tour across Switzerland, her concerto debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia in the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, and her appearance at the Aspen Music Festival in the United States.
A winner of both the Beecham International Piano Competition and the Windsor International Piano Competition, she was also a BBC Young Musician piano fi nalist. She has appeared at Wigmore Hall (UK), Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall (Japan), Viborg Musikforening (Denmark), Ägerihalle (Switzerland) and Harris Hall (USA).
Equally committed to contemporary music, she is currently in a three-year artist residency with the Riot Ensemble, during which she gave the world premiere of Alexander Papp’s duo concerto, broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Her recent projects include the Kurtág Project in London’s Duke’s Hall – the first complete performance of all ten volumes of Játékok – and a UK tour culminating in a sold-out recital for the HGS Autumn Series. |
