Pam Oliver 

Pam has been singing with church choirs and choral societies since childhood, most recently with St Thomas of Canterbury church choir in Grays and Waltham Singers.

She helped run a children’s choir as well as a staff choir at St.Thomas’ school in Grays.

She wrote and directed a musical Christmas play for the school which was performed by 270 children there.

She began playing the ukulele in lockdown (like so many others) but then ventured out into folk clubs and open mics, singing and playing..

Maggie Inverarity

Maggie had her first guitar lessons at St Angela’s Ursuline School at the age of 12.

She was soon leading the hymns for Class Chapel Services.

Maggie shared her love of singing and playing the guitar when she became a qualified Nursery Nurse! She has worked in several schools and often lead the music for assemblies.

Maggie became a self-employed musician and set up ‘Maggie’s Music Box’ offering music making sessions for nursery/infant schools.

She also worked at the local Brentwood SNAP charity on a regular basis for 17 years offering music making sessions for pre-school children with additional needs.

Maggie has recently been singing and playing her guitar in several open mic sessions and folk clubs.

Magpie

Pam and Maggie met at the Sail Loft Folk Club in Horndon on the Hill in January of this year and enjoyed each others musical preference and each others company.   They quickly decided to form the duo “Magpie”.

People enjoy their close harmonies and wide range of folk, country and popular music.k clubs and open mics, singing and playing.
