Service of Nine Lessons and Carols
Presided by Bishop Alan
Sunday 22 December 2024 – 4 pm
The Cathedral was full for this lovely service of prayers, readings and carols with music by the Cathedral Choir, presided over by Bishop Alan Williams. We were joined by several distinguished guests including the Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Mark Haigh, the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst, the Hon Dominic Petre, Rev Canon Darren Barlow (Shenfield St Mary’s – C of E) and Bishop Emeritus Thomas McMahon. The service began with the singing of ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ with the solo part performed by one of our excellent younger choristers, Anna Romhany. (Some sound recordings will be added to this web page later)
