On Wednesday 26 June at 5pm we were thrilled to welcome back Christopher Karwacinski (violin) to the Cathedral when he was accompanied by Stephen King at the piano in a splendid afternoon recital.

The highly appreciative audience were treated to a wonderful mix of pieces from the pure excellence of Bach through the ever popular Massenet, Elgar and Vaughan Williams, to the perhaps less well-known but equally lovely Dvorak, and culminating in the movingly evocative theme music from Schindler’s List.

Throughout the recital Christopher’s excellence at the violin was beautifully complemented by Stephen’s sensitive playing.

There was many a damp eye amongst those who were lucky enough to be present and who joined in the standing ovation at the end of the recital.
