Chris Karwacinski & David Sillkoff
Violin & Piano Recital
Wednesday 16 October 2019 … 5:00 – 6:00 pm
On Wednesday 16 October at 5pm we were thrilled to welcome Chris Karwacinski for a late afternoon Violin Recital accompanied by David Silkoff on the piano.
With a wonderfully varied programme ranging from Mozart to Dvořák via Kreisler, Elgar and Brahms, not to mention the two Williams – Ralph Vaughan and John – the audience were treated to a superb display of both excellent technique and heart-felt sensitivity. The violin really moved the listeners in a way that no other instrument can truly achieve, and the whole recital was excellently complemented by David Silkoff at the piano.
As the recital ended with the climax of the Dvořák Sonatina our musicians were given a very well-deserved standing ovation, and in return we were rewarded with a lovely encore as Chris and David played the Méditation from Thaïs by Jules Massenet.
