Cello/Piano/Organ Recital

Wednesday 24 November 1 pm

recitalOn Wednesday 24 November we were treated to a splendid cello recital with piano and organ accompaniment in a programme including French, German and Russian music.

Oliver Farrant a London-based cellist was accompanied by Stephen King, who is well know to all of us as the organist at the Cathedral.recital

The cello filled the Cathedral with wonderful, luxuriant, almost singing tones, as first the organ, in the piece by Fauré, and subsequently  the piano with the remaining pieces, provided the essential accompaniment.

This proved to be an exceptional recital with both Oliver and Stephen both able to exhibit their wonderful musicianship to the full.
