On Wednesday 21 June, we were very pleased to welcome  Alexander Evans to Brentwood Cathedral for a lunchtime Organ Recital. Alexander, who is studying at the Royal College of Music in London, treated us to some magnificently uplifting music, beautifully played.

Alexander began organ lessons at St Thomas’ Brentwood with Sarah Stonehouse in 2015.

A member of the choir, he shortly became the Neville Mansell Organ Scholar.

After finishing school, he became Director of music at Hinde Street Methodist Church in March 2019, and took a gap year to come to terms with the role.

During this year he studied Organ with Richard Brasier at St Laurence Upminster, in preparation to apply to Conservatories for 2020.

Alexander was accepted for principal study at the Royal College of Music, and he has since started his third of a four-year course.

He now studies with David Graham, and Charles Andrews.
