Comments from just some of our attendees

What a setting – the absolute beauty of the Cathedral! The quality of performance is superb and the standard just keeps getting higher and higher…..
In an otherwise crazy world the respite to be lifted into heaven with music is so welcome……
Midday music provides a valuable island of refreshment……
We are leaving with a feeling of joy and hope. Thank you.
I so enjoy the concerts – I have managed to get to most of them, such a high standard, a privilege to have them in the Cathedral….
An hour of peace, enrichment, culture offered locally. An opportunity to talk to the Recitalists, whilst having some refreshments afterwards…..
The privilege of watching live performances by highly talented musicians – they contribute significantly to the cultural life of our town….
Brings joy and relaxation with each piece of music heard – brings much happiness to the audience….
The Recitals are so uplifting – can’t wait for more in the Autumn….

At the 11:30 Mass on 19 November, Kate O’Hanlon, from the Cathedral Choir, gave an excellent solo rendition of Mendelssohn’s ‘O For the Wings of a Dove’

Katherine has been a chorister since she was 8. She studies with Julia Wilson-James and is the current holder of the Pam Cairns trophy from the Chelmsford Festival. Kate made her debut at the age of 11 with Hutton and Shenfield Choral Society in 2021 singing Faure Requiem: Pie Jesu, and went on to sing it with the RSCM in Waltham Abbey Church 2022. Since then she has sung Lord of the Rings Orchestral Suite: In Dreams for Brentwood’s Phoenix Youth Orchestra and Mendelssohn: Hear My Prayer for HSCS.
