On Wednesday 25 October we greatly enjoyed a wonderfully varied programme of organ music played by Christopher Hughes  from the RCM,

In addition to well-known organ pieces from Bach and Vierne, Christopher regaled us with organ music from Tomkins, Howells and William Byrd, who is, of course, very much a local composer and whose 400th anniversary falls this year.

Herbert Howells (1892-1983) Tallis’s  Testament

William Byrd (c.1540-1623) Fantasia in A
Louis Vierne (1870-1937) Toccata 

Refreshments were available in the Song School afterwards
