Organ Recital

Alexander Evans

Royal College of Musicrecital

On Wednesday 17 January, we were very pleased to welcome back  Alexander Evans to the Cathedral in this, the first recital of 2024.

Many of us remembered when Alexander performed for us in June 2023; and despite the rather cold January snap outside, a good number of people were keen to listen again to this very gifted organist.

Alexander treated us to an excellent variety of music from Bach and Byrd to Reger and Messiaen, and we also heard one of Alexander’s own compositions based on the Welsh tune Hyfrydol.

Alexander is currently studying at the Royal College of Music in London, where he is now in his fourth year.
